Research and Academic Interests
I received the B.Sc. degree in Social Sciences from the Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros and the MSc. degree in Agriculture and Development from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. Currently, I am concluding the requirements for the PhD degree in Agriculture and Development at the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. I am also an associate professor at the Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros-UNIMONTES. My working experience includes social and environmental diagnosis in the Amazonian Rain Forest and in fishing areas of the Atlantic Rain Forest in the States of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. My research experience with dry forests includes studies on the family agriculture in the Brazilian Caatinga and in the north of the State of Minas Gerais. My research interests include the human occupation and land use of the dry forests in Minas Gerais and development of social policies to promote the sustainable development in this region.
